On Friday while I was at the Pro-life Women’s Conference in Indianapolis, IN, hours after hearing the news about the Supreme Court’s decision on the Dobbs case, I received a call from an unknown number.  I assumed it would be a hateful call (I got a lot of those after the Heartbeat Law was enacted), but to my surprise is was quite the opposite!  The lady who called, Angelica, had been driving by the Duval Rd location earlier that morning when she saw an angry woman screaming at the prayer volunteers.  She felt she needed to stop and defend the people being yelled at.

The angry woman shouted, “YOU HATE WOMEN!” Angelica said she told the angry woman to “leave them alone, they are literally standing here peacefully, just praying!!  Her sign says she’s praying and clearly that’s what she’s doing!”  “No, she’s judging, and she’s putting the wrong f****** mindset in people’s heads on the streets!” the angry woman shouted back at Angelica.

Angelica was SO AMAZED at the poise, calm demeanor and peaceful presence of the volunteer holding the “Praying to end abortion” sign.  “She just stood there, didn’t engage, didn’t let this angry woman get to her, just stood there so calm. I couldn’t believe it!!”  Angelica then got the Coalition for Life’s phone number from the volunteers because she wanted to let the head of the organization know how amazing YOU all are.  “God BLESS YOU! You are really doing amazing work!” Angelica told me over the phone.  Of course, nothing Angelica told me was a surprise – we truly do have some amazing people of faith in this wonderful ministry.  THANK YOU!!

The volunteer with the sign emailed me later that day and gave her perspective: “It was truly a miracle of God, as He brought people to our help, at just the right time!” This is the verse that the Lord brought to her mind, that they witnessed in action:

2 Chronicles 20:17 “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.”

“I just stood there quietly, holding my sign, praying and praising the Lord, and as the opposition came against me, the Lord fought the battle!  All I needed to do, was just stand still.  God is so Good! We serve an Awesome God!”
