Rachel reported: “While Oscar and I were praying for the last time at the Duval Rd location, we had a nice affirmation from a gentleman who pulled over.  He’s from Kansas but his son lives here.  He wanted to know if we were praying the Rosary.  I said ‘yes.’  He replied, ‘THANK YOU!   Keep it up!.’

He became very emotional and tearful.  After a few moments he stated, ‘I just had to stop and say thank you for doing that.  Thank you for praying!!’  As he drove off he said our reward would be great! Such a great feeling!”

Over the years volunteers have submitted multiple different encounters, some positive like this and some negative.  We know that we do this for the greater glory of God and not for any sort of self-glorification (we’re in the wrong business if that’s the case!).  It certainly doesn’t hurt to have an uplifting comment or conversation with someone, though.  We are continually grateful for the opportunities to pray and praise the Lord, and to show His love to those to whom we reach out.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” ~Matthew 5:14-16
